Germany's national football team (also known as Die Mannschaft) represents Germany in association football competitions vs. foreign national football teams. Since Germany does not have a national stadium, the national team's home matches are held in various stadiums around Germany; most of the teams matches were held in Berlin, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Hanover and Munich.

Germany's national football team is one of the 3 most successful national teams at international competitions thanks to winning a total of three World Cups and three European Championships, being runners-up for more than twice in the European Championships and more than 3 times in the World Cup.

In the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Germany's national football team competed impressively throughout the tournament; won the group stage and advanced to the knockout stage. In the round of 16, Germany's national football team defeated the English and Argentinean teams before being defeated in the World Cup semifinal by Spain. In 2010, Germany's national football team scored a total of 16 goals and thus became the first team since Brazil in 1982 to record the highest goal difference in a World Cup without winning it.
