Bayern Munich (also known as FC Bayern Munich) is a professional German football club from Munich, Bavaria. Bayern Munich is actually the most successful football team in Germany and has won over 20 football titles and more than 13 cups since founded in 1900 by members of the Munich gymnastics club. Bayern Munich plays in the first division German League, the bundesliga.

From 1965 to 1979, Bayern Munich has played for the first time in the German Bundesliga. Bayern has finished its first season in the Bundesliga in the third place and also won the cup. This qualified Bayern to play in the following season's European Cup Winners Cup and even win this cup. In 1974, Bayern Munich became the first German club to win the European Cup, and the third club to win this trophy three years in row.

In the 80's, Bayern experienced more than a few financial problems and personnel changes and had very little success. Bayern Munich hardly managed to claim the runners-up spot in the European Cup in 82 and 87. Bayern Munich became successful again in the second half of the 1993/1994 season when Bayern Munich won the Championship again after 4 years.

Bayern Munich is a membership based club with more than 155,000 members. Bayern Munich has nearly 3,000 registered fan clubs with about 200,000 members. The Bayern Munich club has many fans who follow the team to cheer and support the players.
